Three machines share one design, one field strength and one erase time. What separates them is how much you can put in the chamber at once — which is the only question that matters once the compliance box is ticked.
The patented inclined plane system magnetises the media diagonally rather than square on. On perpendicular-recording drives that lifts erasing efficiency by roughly half over a conventional head-on field, giving an effective erasing capacity equivalent to 1,200 kA/m.

The series passed Magnetic Force Microscope testing at Tohoku University in Japan on a 2.5-inch Hitachi perpendicular-recording drive (HGST-HTS545050B9A300) of roughly 7,000 Oe coercivity, which confirmed complete degaussing rather than partial attenuation.
